History and Facts of Temples of India
The temple is called the place of worship of Hindus. It is a fixed place or devasthan for prayer and worship. That is, the place where meditation or contemplation is done to an adorable god, or there is an idol. It is called a temple.
In Indian religions - Sanatan Dharma, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. Temples have been considered to be of particular importance in one way or the other. The temple means 'home.' The correct words are 'Devamandir,' 'Shivamandir,' 'Kalimandir.'
A temple is a place where a disciple or religious teacher who believes in a particular sect, religion, or tradition, discusses or interprets religious texts to preserve and promote their community so that the followers of that community are interested in.
They may know what is in their religion. For example, Buddhist viharas can be compared to Hindu monasteries of Christian monasteries. Still, the use of the word 'temple' is believed to have started from Shankaracharya's period, i.e., the seventh or eighth century. In Tamil, the temple is called 'Koil' or 'Kovil.'
