Himachal Pradesh | Unforgettable Himachal

​Himachal Pradesh is a state located in Western India. It is surrounded by Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in the south and southwest, Uttarakhand in the south-east, and Tibet in the east. The word 'Himachal Pradesh' literally means 'zone of snowy mountains'. Himachal Pradesh is also called the Land of Gods. The influence of the Aryans in Himachal Pradesh is older than the Rigveda. After the Anglo-Gurkha War, it came under British rule. 

By 1857, it was Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab. Punjab remained a part of the state under the rule of This state was made a Union Territory in 1950, but under the 'Himachal Pradesh State Act-1971' in 1971, it was made the eighteenth state of India on 25 June 1971. The estimated per capita income in Himachal Pradesh is higher than any other state in India. 

Due to the abundance of rivers, Himachal hydrates other states, of which Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan are predominant. The state's economy is basically based on hydropower, tourism, and agriculture. Hindus constitute 90 percent of the total population in the state and the main communities include Brahmins, Rajputs, Kannets, Rathis, and Kolis. 

 

Himachal Pradesh is located in the middle of Western Himalayas, it is called Dev Bhoomi. It is believed to be the abode of Goddesses and Gods. There are many stone and wooden temples in the state of Himachal. The rich culture and traditions have made Himachal a unique state. The high mountains, glaciers, shady valleys, and huge pine trees and thundering rivers and distinctive fauna here seem to compose a melodious musical composition for Himachal.

Himachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state on 25 January 1971. In April 1948, it was made a Union Territory by joining about 30 princely states spread over 27,000 sq km. In 1954, when the 'C' category of the principality, Tablaspur was added to it, its area increased to 28,241 sq km. In 1966, this union was reorganized by adding the hilly part of Punjab to this union territory and its area increased to 55,673 sq km. Today not only hilly areas have developed in Himachal Pradesh, but this state has also achieved remarkable development in education, health, and social services.
