Lepakshi is a small village located in Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh . The village is known for its artistic temples which were built in the 16th century.
'Lepakshi Temple' is a beautiful example of Vijayanagar style temples. The huge temple complex has three temples dedicated to Lord Shiva , Lord Vishnu and Lord Virabhadra.
Lord Shiva was the patriarch of the Nayak rulers. Perhaps the largest statue of Nagling is in the Lepakshi temple. The idol of Lord Ganesha also attracts the attention of tourists visiting here.
