Patal Bhuvaneshwar Temple and Cave

The stone sculpture in front of the cave of Patal Bhuvaneshwar described in India 's oldest book Skanda Purana, contains all the mysteries in itself. Pandavas did Tapasya here, and Adi Shankaracharya rediscovered it in Kalyuga.

Pithoragarh

Pithoragarh district is a major tourist center of the state of Uttarakhand. There is a group of many underground caves between the dense forests of deodar, out of which a large cave temple of Lord Siva is located inside it.

The entire complex has been taken over by the Archaeological Department of India since 2007. However, the work of entry inside the caves is still done by the local temple committee.

The 'Cave Temple of Patal Bhuvaneshwar ' is located 110 km from Almora, the famous town of Kumaon division in Uttarakhand, via Sheraghat and is situated in the Gangolihat, a small town nestled in the hills.


On its way, the Dhaval Himalayan Mountains have panoramic Nanda Devi, Panchchuli, Pindari, Untadhura etc. peaks. Traveling from Delhi, you can reach Almora by covering a distance of 350 km on the first day.
