Chardham Rail Project | Rudraprayag Uttarakhand

Did you know that by 2025 you can travel from Delhi to Karnaprayag by train in just 8-9 hours?

Currently, it takes around 12- 14 hours to reach Karnaprayag from Delhi.

Not only this train will also take you to Chopta (Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand)

Highlights of Chardham Rail Project

  • The speed of the train was fixed at 100 kmph on the Rishikesh-Karna Prayag rail track.

  • The first phase will be completed between Virbhadra-New Rishikesh in this financial year.

  • Construction of tunnel on Switzerland and Austria technology

  • The project will be completed in three sections by 2025

This is a dream project of Narendra Modi Ji and Indian Railways.

The train will run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on this track. In the second phase, the railway will also build railway tracks up to Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Its survey work will be completed in this financial year. After this, 327 km of rail track will be laid in inaccessible hills.

After the rail route is ready, the distance of Rishikesh-Karnprayag will be completed in just one and a half to two hours. Initially, the train will run on this route with a diesel engine. Later the electric locomotives will run trains, which will speed up the trains.

Like the Vande Bharat Express, self-propelled train sets can also be run on this route. On the other hand, devotees now take about 15 days to visit Char Dham. Due to the construction of the rail route, this journey by rail route instead of inaccessible areas will be just three to four days.
