After reviewing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to recall 100 companies of paramilitary forces from the Union Territory.

The decision was taken after reviewing the situation in the valley and a high level meeting.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Srinagar, has decided to recall 100 companies of paramilitary deployed in the Kashmir Valley in the last one year. It has now been decided to remove all these companies, which were set up before the end of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir , after reviewing the situation.
This decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs is being seen as a major step of confidence building in the valley. Around 12000 personnel will be recalled.
Nearly 30 thousand additional CRPF personnel were deployed in the Kashmir Valley before the end of Article 370. Apart from this, BSF, Sashastra Seema Bal, Central Industrial Security Force personnel were also deployed in large numbers here. With the deployment of these soldiers, the situation in the valley was being reviewed from time to time.
Recently, in view of the Amarnath Yatra, it was decided to put these jawans in security duty as well, but after the postponement of the yatra, they were again deployed for internal security.
