World Coconut Day | 2nd September



World Coconut Day is celebrated every year on 2nd September . On the day of Coconut Day, exhibitions of various items made of coconut are held. Coconut is such a fruit , in which we use each part in different ways. ⁣

Coconut Day underscores the importance of coconut. It is a day to sit together to find out how we can use it further. Nowadays our country is going through the havoc of polythene, which does not rot and pollutes and pollutes the drains, rail tracks and road sides. By removing polythene we can use bags made of coconut coir. Coconut is useful for us in every way.⁣

Coconut Utility ⁣


Coconut farming provides employment to about one crore people in our country. Coconuts are intensively cultivated in four southern states of Kerala , Karnataka , Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh . Up to 90 percent of the country's coconut is obtained from here. ⁣

This salty soil in the sea is grown along. Coconut Truck, Kerala This coconut-water is nutritious and healthy. Heat the season in coconut water drink, we are disposing their thirst. When the coconut is ripe, white coconut fruit is obtained from inside. It is used in worship. We also eat raw white coconut, used for making sweets and many dishes. ⁣


Mattresses, bags and many other useful items are made from coconut fibers. We make different items using coconut in different ways and trade it in other countries of the world as well as in the country. ⁣

Exports of goods made from this make our country a national income of about Rs 470 crore. Coconuts are also used in religious rituals. This is considered sacred in India . ⁣


The scientific name of coconut is 'coccus nucifera' and belongs to the Palm family. ⁣

The main coconut producing countries are Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, India , Indonesia, Kiribati, Malaysia , Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka , Thailand, Tonga, Vanotu, Vietnam, Jamaica and Kenya, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Brazil and Sri Lanka have the highest production of coconut . ⁣

The purpose of celebrating World Coconut Day is to encourage the use of coconut as a raw material for industries and to spread awareness about its use. This will benefit industries and farmers producing coconut.⁣
