Shimla continued to prove its importance as a summer capital for a year after the independence of the country. Shimla has been a favorite tourist destination in India as well as the entire world for its unique beauty. Shimla also serves as a convenient base for exciting sports such as skiing, trekking, fishing, and golf.


Although the British Empire has ended, its imprint still appears in Shimla. The city, which was the summer capital of the British in India, has already been a center of attraction. Now Shimla as the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh has all the facilities. Shimla is named after the goddess Shyamala who is an incarnation of Kali.


Location

Shimla, 6890 feet above sea level, is the most beautiful hill station in the country, which is spread over 12 kilometers in length. Shimla is 114 km north of Chandigarh at a height of about 2,200 meters on a mountain top of the miniature Himalayas. Shimla is situated at an elevation of about 7267 feet and is situated in a semi-circle shape. Where cold winds are a boon for the whole year.
